Teams will swim in relay for 55 minutes
and the total number of laps achieved will be
recorded. Cups and medals will be awarded for a number of Senior and Junior categories mainly on a points basis where:-
Points = Laps Swum x Money Raised.
There is NO entry fee but teams will be expected to collect sponsorship. Sponsorship monies raised by each team will be allocated as follows:
50% of the total raised to the team's own
organisation or selected charity.
The remaining 50% (less event expenses) to benefit the
following charities:
Life Education Dorset
- (Reg. Charity No. 1071094) is an independent and self supporting branch of a national charity working in partnership with schools and the community to help children between the ages of 3 and 11 make informed healthy living choices.
Headway Dorset - (reg. Charity No. 1027594) is an independent voluntary organisation affiliated to Headway UK, the Brain Injury Association. Headway promotes a wider understanding of brain injury and provides information, advice and support to people with brain injuries, their families and carers.
Lions Club Charity Trust
Fund - (Reg. Charity No. 1019759) Supports a wide range of other local and international charities and other good causes.
Last year the total money raised by the Swimarathon was £7,392.
