THE BLACKMORE VALE LIONS CLUB
23rd SWIMARATHON 2010
to be held on
Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th March
at
Clayesmore School Sports Centre
Raise funds for your own organisation or selected charity and for Lions nominated charities.
Entries are invited from teams of 6 swimmers . There is no limit to the number of teams entered by a group or organisation.
Teams will swim in relay for 55 minutes and the total number of laps achieved will be recorded. Cups and medals will be awarded for a number of Senior and Junior categories mainly on a points basis where:-
Points = Laps Swum x Money Raised.
There is NO entry fee but teams will be expected to collect sponsorship (For Sponsorship Form Click Here). Sponsorship monies raised by each team will be allocated as follows:
50% of the total raised will be returned to the team's own organisation or selected charity.
The remaining 50% (less event expenses) will benefit the following charities:
CLICC Sargent - (Reg. Charity No. 1107328) Caring for children and young people with cancer, and their families - in hospital and the community.
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance - (Reg. Charity No. 1078685) Continues to provide an essential service in it's 10th operational year, averaging 3-4 missions daily. (8 in summer)
Lions Club Charity Trust Fund - (Reg. Charity No. 1019759) Supports a wide range of other local and international charities and other good causes.
Last year the total money raised by the Swimarathon was £7,884
