35 teams from 20 organisations swam with great enthusiasm in our 21st Swimarathon event at Clayesmore Sports Centre on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th April.
Participants obtained sponsorship pledges amounting, to date, to the magnificent sum of £6,645. Of this amount some £3000 was returned to to the teams for their own orgaisation or nominated charities, which included CLIC Sargent, Breast Cancer Research UK and Childline.. This year's principle beneficiary of the Lions share of the proceeds were Headway Dorset and Life Education Dorset.

The Brian Chenery Cup (for the best individual team). Stour Provost Community School Parents and Teachers Team with 35,595 points. (63 laps/£565)
The Blackmore Vale Challenge Cup (for the overall runners up) Clayesmore Masters Swimming Club with 34,164 points (72 laps/£475)
Eamon & Jackie McNamara Cup (for best junior team ) The Aquastars of Emily Jeans, Alice Wood, Sophie Wilkinson Saphron Tavener, Kayleigh Harris and Rhiannon Phillips.with 17,301 points (73 laps/£237)
President's Shield (for the most noteworthy effort by a team.) Awarded to the GillinghamTurbos Swimming Club Boys Team Swimming Club for their spectacular swim of 100 laps.
The Dick and Sally Gillam Plate (for the best group overall) GillinghamTurbos Swimming Club whose three teams scored a total of 63,405 points having raised an impressive £835.
