This
two day weekend fun event is held every March at the Claysmore School swimming
pool to raise funding for various charities. It is open to any group of people
who can raise a team of six swimmers. It is not a competition against other
teams, each team is required to complete as many lengths as possible over a period
of 55 minutes. The amount of money raised from its sponsors, based on the team's
performance will be split equally between the BV Lions charity account and the
nominated charity of that team. The 2005 event raised over £9000.
This
is a worthy cause well worth supporting while at the same time having a great
time in good company and keeping fit. So why not entreat, cajole or bully
your friends and colleagues to form one or more teams to take part in next year's
event? Bookmark
