7th Twinning Visit to Hannover

Aeronautical Museum.
A visit to the Aeronautical Museum - Hanover

Five lions and five Lions Ladies set out at 02.00hrs on the 6th October to catch the 06.50 Hanover Flight from Heathrow. We were greeted at Hanover Airport by our respective hosts from Hanover Tiergarten Lions Club led by President Uwe Maurer. On Friday evening we were invited to attend a
reception and concert at an amazing private Aeronautical Museum which included the only Spitfire in Germany.

On Saturday, in addition to independent activities with our individual hosts, we attended a concert and tour of an impressive retirement home in the Tiergarten area of Hanover. This impressive building complex had been designed by a member of the Hanover Tiergarden Lions Club, Hans-Albert
Ahrens who, with his wife Doris, was present to host our visit. In the evening we were honoured to be invited to a superb dinner at the Hanover Yacht Club where we were guests at the 40th Anniversary Commemoration of the foundation of the Hanover Tiergarten Lions Club.

BreakfastSunday was spent with our individual hosts and once again we were all thoroughly spoiled. The day culminated with individual dinner parties hosted by other club members.

Before departure on Monday we were treated to a superbbreakfast banquet at Hanover Airport.

A fantastic time was had by all and we are looking forward to continuing this very strong inter-club relationship when our good friends from the Hanover Lions visit the Blackmore Vale in 18 months time"
