The visitors arrived during
Friday and that evening they were treated to a three course meal prepared by our
ladies. This was followed by a quiz evening based on the Trivial Pursuits
formula.
Saturday
was spent visiting local attractions
whilst the Hall was being prepared for the evenings entertainment. This
year we held a fancy dress party with the theme 'A Country Yokel' and the majority
of guests were appropriately dressed for the part. The quality of the mainly
home baked food on these occasions is one of the main attractions and this year
was no exception. Our ladies excelled themselves by producing a mouth watering
dinner menu that included venison sausages and chicken and ham pie. Music for
dancing was provided by a duo and the evening entertainment included a well supported
raffle and a competition for the children in which every participant ended up
by winning a prize. Yokels

Sunday
began with the smell of cooking bacon wafting over the site as our Lions prepared
a typical english breakfast for the visitors. The rally ended at noon with
an exchange of banners and a closing address by our club president.
It
was good to renew acquaintance with old friends and to welcome newcomers to our
rally. It is worth
mentioning that for two couples this was their twentieth visit, while another
couple make the long trip from their home in the south of France each year.
We also had first timers from as far afield as Southampton, Gosport, Bodmin and
Southbourne in West Sussex.
The
2007 rally will be held on the weekend 15 - 17 June. If you would like to
