Our successful 2009 Golf Fun Day enabled us to donate £1000 to the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. Several Blackmore Vale and their wives visited Henstridge Airfield on a glorious June day. Annette Plaistow-Trapaud, on behalf of the Air Ambulance Trust, is seen here receiving our cheque from Lion President Peter Oswick, with the crew of the helicopter as well as Lions and their ladies.

After the presentation the crew of the aircraft explained the way it has been adapted for it's role as a flying ambulance. As the talk was drawing to a close, and almost to emphasise the value of the aircraft, one of the paramedics received a call which had the crew rapidly re-loading the equipment into the machine and within 3 minutes they were airborne to another emergency.
