VALE LIONS CLUB : GOLF FUN DAY
FOLKE GOLF CLUB, ALWESTON : SUNDAY 18th April 2010
I am
pleased to let you know that this year's event will be supporting just
one charity. This is Breathe On Uk,
which is based in Marnhull. This really deserving charity supports families
with children who have extreme breathing difficulties
As before
there will be two competitions :-
1) The
main competition will be for those golfers who play to a handicap. This
will be a Stableford competition.
2) In
addition there will be a competition especially for novices. This will
be for golfers who do not play to a handicap and who would not expect
to score less than 70 for the 9 holes. This will be a stroke play competition.
There
will be prizes for both GENTLEMEN and LADIES in both competitions.
Prizes
will also be given for the LONGEST DRIVE and NEAREST THE PIN.
Additionally
there will be fun PUTTING and CHIPPING competitions (larger Lion mouths
this year !! ) and a TOMBOLA.
The
first tee will be at approximately midday but this will depend on entry
numbers.
I am
very pleased to confirm that, thanks to the generosity of Steve Harris
of Folke Golf Club the price will remain as last year.
The
cost will be £5 for Folke Golf Club members and £14 for others.
We are
of course looking to raise money for these good causes and as a condition
of entry we would expect each golfer to raise a minimum of £5 either by
sponsorship or donation.
To reserve
your tee time please download an entry form and return it with your entry
fee either to Lion President Peter Oswick at Greys Cottage, Townsend,Henstridge,
BA80RQ or to Stephen Harris at Folke Golf Club as soon as possible but
NO LATER THAN 10TH April 2009.
Sponsorship
forms with your tee time will be issued with the acknowledgement of your
